Israel Enters the Syria Conflict


The question is not whether Israel sent warplanes into Syria on the night of Jan. 29. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak made that clear enough later in the week, calling news reports of the lightning strikes "proof [that] when we said something, we mean it."
