It takes a tireless journalist to try to unite the party known for diversity

It took me a while to parse the diversity of Republicans at their convention in Tampa. Eventually, though, I learned that each one owns a business selling a totally different obscure industrial product. But at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, I didn't have to try. The DNC officially recognizes 14 caucuses, which is a lot of races, ethnicities and genders. If Republicans talk a lot about money, Democrats talk a lot about themselves. You can see why a third party could never compete with them.
