Marzieh

  • For 15 years after Iran's Islamic revolution, the renowned Iranian vocalist Marzieh, who died Oct. 13 at 86, didn't sing in public. But her illustrious career, which dated back to the 1940s, resumed after she defected while in Paris in 1994. She often used her voice in support of dissident causes.
