    On May 21, Nevada election officials banned chicken suits from polling places in order to shield Republican Senate candidate Sue Lowden from ridicule. Lowden has been plagued by people dressed as chickens ever since she said, "Our grandparents would bring a chicken to the doctor" as a way to barter for medical care. Democrats set up a website called Chickens for Checkups and have been sending chicken-suit-wearing volunteers to Lowden's campaign events; they say they will stay away from the June 8 primary.
