The Quai de l'Ile, above, is unlike any watch Vacheron Constantin has ever made: it's customizable and impossible to copy. Buyers can choose from nearly 400 combinations of metals and dials. (A rose-gold crown with a titanium bezel, perhaps?) And to further thwart counterfeiters, Vacheron has enlisted Roger Pfund, the designer behind the Swiss passport and banknote, to institute high-security details like offset printing and a polymer film on the crystal dial. A custom watch takes only three months.
