Quality in the Classroom If we value our children as the hope of the future, why are we so stingy with their education [Feb. 25]? Would a doctor, lawyer or engineer pursue many costly years of education to earn little more than $30,000 a year? Combine that with no mentoring and escalating school violence, and we are recruiting a teaching staff from the bottom of the barrel.
