South African reggae icon Lucky Dube--who wrote the lyrics "Do you ever worry about leaving home and coming back in a coffin with a bullet through your head?"--was fatally shot by carjackers in a Johannesburg suburb, caught up in the rampant street crime that has plagued his country since the end of apartheid. Dube sang in three languages--Zulu, English and Afrikaans--and recorded 22 albums, some of which were banned under apartheid.
