Making Fun of the Knight

Silvio Berlusconi used to say he loved Sabina Guzzanti's TV impersonations of him. He may have changed his mind after her last couple of outings on the political satire show L'Ottavo Nano (The Eighth Dwarf). Guzzanti's version of the media mogul-turned-politician is dismissive of immigrants, throws bricks at passersby, boasts of having bought Italian democracy and, naturally, gets a custard pie in his face. The 37-year-old Guzzanti says her satire is "a way of showing people they're not alone in noticing the lack of logic in Italian politics."
