Usually I dread the G-8. for a journalist, it's the ultimate BOGSAT: a Bunch of Guys Sitting Around a Table. The guys do happen to lead the world's richest countries, but any really interesting exchanges at their annual get-togethers tend to get saved for their memoirs. Instead, we are treated to a ritual photo of the leaders in funny shirts to dress up a turgid communiqué, disgorged at a press center far, far from the action.
