Don't Mention the War

The article "The Long Goodbye" [May 9] makes a good point concerning the choice for the electorate in the recently concluded election. Blair and the Labour Party have been given a new mandate; however there have been a few hitches — George Galloway, anyone? Considering the result that the Liberal Democrats received was their best since 1922 under Lloyd George, I believe the case for proportional representation in England — as it has been enacted in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland — has become stronger.
