Transfer of evidence to a congressional committee irks Volcker

The United Nations oil-for-food scandal is about to get nastier and more personal. Sources tell TIME that the Senate's Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, chaired by Minnesota's Norm Coleman, will soon make public the names of prominent individuals from several countries who received lucrative and oh-so-illegal oil contracts from Saddam Hussein in violation of the U.N. program designed to keep the Iraqi people from starving while depriving their dictator of cash.
