During weeks of speculation about how the Federal Election Commission will try to regulate political advertising on the Web, outraged bloggers at THE RIGHT COAST and other sites vowed that the feds would restrict e-commentary only "when they pry the keyboards from our cold, dead fingers." The agency released draft rules last week that leave independent bloggers largely alone. Still, a suggestion that bloggers should disclose payments from campaigns or political committees raised hackles. Blogs like CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS said they favored disclosure but the government shouldn't compel it.
