Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono took time off from tsunami-damage control last Friday to talk with TIME's Jason Tedjasukmana about the disaster, the international aid effort, and what the Indonesian military is up to in Aceh, the hardest-hit area. Excerpts:
