The Atlantic Alliance. Yawn. Or perhaps a ritual bow is the more appropriate response. It's a Great Worthy, one of those things politicians shower with clichés about D-day and the Berlin Airlift before shifting their speeches to the interesting stuff. We heard it last week when George W. Bush met Tony Blair for the first time to wave the torch of the Anglo-American "special relationship."
