Romance is a contact sport in All the Real Girls

On the rolling mountainsides of Asheville, N.C., this movie suggests, young men and women have nothing better to do than to try figuring out themselves and the opposite sex. Guys attempt make-out lines of numbing inanity ("Wanna see my teeth?"). Girls press intimacy on reluctant beaus (She: "I'm trying to be open to you." He: "Why?"). But neither sex has a monopoly on maturity. Having rented a seedy motel room, a couple gets into bed and ... has a pillow fight. Our culture may force adulthood on teens, but sometimes they still have to be kids.
