I have a theory that every seven years we live a completely different life. For instance, when I was 14, I joined a band--the Echoes. The band performed its first gig, and I realized at that point that playing rock 'n' roll was what I wanted to do. It was at the Holy Family Church in Hicksville, N.Y. Five guys were in the band.
